Over years of research, Pat and her husband, the late E.R. “Bob” Hastings, developed the structural evaluation process detailed in their highly acclaimed Puppy Puzzle DVD.  Pat has been doing a presentation, based on the Hastings’ evaluation process, at National Specialties throughout the United States for twenty years.  She also presents full seminars around the world.   Pat has written three books, “Tricks of the Trade:  From Best Intentions to Best In Show”, “Another Piece of the Puzzle:  Puppy Development” and the newest “Structure in Action”.

Besides teaching others this structural evaluation process, Pat also evaluates an average of 350 litters per year across all groups.

Kimberly Pastella Calvacca bio:

Kimberly Pastella Calvacca, born into the Sport of showing Boxers, I am a third generation dog show fancier. I have my Bachelors Degree from C.W.POST College on Long Island in Business and Hospital Administration.

I chose to show dogs as my career. I enjoy working with dogs and the wonderful friendships they bring. Many of those friends are like family. My highlights in showing boxers have been: six American Boxer Club National winners, eight Best Of Breeds at the prestigious Westminster KC, two of which went Group 1 and several group placements with the others, and numerous Champions. I have shown nine different boxers to Best In Show titles, including six straight generations of Best In Show winners coming down from the Hi-Tech line, as well as five Top Ten boxers.

Other handling accomplishments include piloting a Harrier to the Number One Hound in the Country. I have bred five generations of BIS Miniature Pinschers, 4 generations of which were Number One. I have had seven Best of Breed winners at the prestigious Westminster KC. In 2010, I bred, showed and handled my Ch. Kimro's Soldier Boy to the AKC Best Bred By In Show.

I enjoy the arts, the theatre ,travelling, gardening, music of all types, museums, cooking and some good, fun days at home with my family, friends and dogs.

I look forward to this assignment and will choose what I believe comes closest to the standard on that day. I love all my boxer friends, but during Sweeps, I am evaluating their breeding stock. I wish all the exhibitors the best of luck.
